There are many reasons why scarring may occur on your scalp. It may be because you have experienced some kind of trauma to your head that has resulted in surgery or, more commonly, undergone a hair transplant that has left unwanted scarring behind, resulting in your hair journey being incomplete.

Like hair loss in general, scars on a person’s head can still cause damage to their self-esteem and sometimes be quite triggering. 

With scalp micropigmentation, we can conceal the scarred area, blending it naturally with your hair, so the scars appear non-existent. 

There are two types of hair transplants you can get:

• FUT – Follicular Unit Transplantation. This will leave you with a strip-like scar across the side or back of your head.
• FUE – Follicular Unit Extraction. This will leave small circular scars across your head.

The natural pigment used in SMP is applied to the scarred area and blended in with the shaved/faded look. We will deposit it around 2-3cm below and around the scar.

The needle is small enough to replicate a single hair follicle, enabling us to conceal the area of concern completely.
